Senior Vice President, Partnerships & Development

Matthew Waltz joined CAEL as vice president of partnerships in 2021. An experienced leader, Waltz focuses on building high-impact, revenue-generating partnerships in states and regions across the country, managing teams and creating systems to support them. He brings significant expertise to developing education-to-career strategies and cross-sector collaboration that yield long-term impact and value for adults and the communities in which they live and work. 

Most recently, Waltz served as chief operating officer and director of administration for WRTP | BIG STEP, where he managed partnership programs and provided technical assistance across the country at local, state, and federal government levels. He procured multi-year contracts and grants from government agencies such as the Department of Labor, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development along with other local government agencies and private entities. He also was previously a business manager at Pro Motorsports.

Waltz currently serves on the boards of Consortium America, LLC, a nationally certified Community Development Entity based in Washington, DC and the Southeast Wisconsin Workforce Development Board. Waltz is a trustee for the Phi Sigma Kappa Foundation, steering committee member for Academies of Racine, Racine Unified School District, and advisory member for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Customer Experience Advisory Committee.

Waltz has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Business Management from Marian University and an MBA from University of Wisconsin. In addition to holding a project management certificate, he is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP) in Human Resources.
