Our Impact
CAEL's Theory of Change
Today, the CAEL community is larger and more diverse than ever. As the breadth and depth of our strategic partnerships continue to grow, so does our capacity to realize our vision that every adult can navigate lifelong learning and career pathways that fuel economic mobility and community prosperity. To channel that vision, CAEL has implemented a theory of change to focus and maximize our efforts in the years ahead, especially around our impact on adult learners and workers who face barriers due to racial, ethnic, gender, and socio-economic inequities.
Our theory of change is oriented around an ultimate outcome that all adult learners have an equitable opportunity for, and success in, obtaining credentials and skills that lead to well-paying, good quality jobs, increased earnings and economic mobility, and an improved quality of life.
CAEL strives toward this outcome by focusing our impact on three levels:
We increase our individual impact when more adult learners and workers engage with the CAEL network of resources.
Our partner impact is driven by the collaboration that unites disparate entities around a common cause.
Finally, our systemic impact is the result of the strategic integration of our individual and partner outcomes. Because adult learners and workers are pivotal to equitable economic mobility, our work naturally expands to stakeholders and programs focused on regional and national education-employment ecosystems.
