CAEL, National University To Co-Host Convening on Education and Workforce Development

On March 12, CAEL will hold a Regional Convening in San Diego, sponsored by National University, a CAEL institutional member. Much like CAEL’s annual conference, the convening will connect niches from throughout the education-employment ecosystem, creating new opportunities to benefit from the multiplier effects inherent in the CAEL community of practice.

Laura Dawson Ullrich, a regional economist and director, Community College Initiative, for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will deliver a keynote address. Additional guest presenters include:

  • Dr. Katie Brown, Founder and Chief Education Officer at EnGen.
  • Dr. Krystal Rawls, director of the Workforce Integration Network at California State University – Dominguez Hills.
  • Rose Rojas, director of the District Services Support Center at Maricopa Community Colleges.
  • Brandy Whisman, organizational effectiveness consultant, American Public Human Services Association.
  • Vanessa Preston, executive vice president, Grant Associates.
  • Deanna Rader, senior consultant, Seattle Jobs Initiative.

Leadership from National University will also present during the convening.

CAEL presenters include Rachel Hirsch, vice president of public partnerships, Matt Waltz, senior vice president of partnerships and development, Dr. William McKinney, senior director of higher education initiatives, and Doug Heckman, vice president of partnerships and development.

These and many other policymakers and practitioners will lend their expertise as participants share best practices and explore emerging opportunities to build and sustain education-employment pathways that lead to success for adult learners, workers, and the communities that depend on them.

The convening will occur at National University’s Scripps Ranch Office. Preceding the event will be a special in-person gathering, open to all who wish to register for it, of CAEL’s Military Community of Practice

Registration, which is discounted more than 50% for CAEL members, can be completed at cael.org.
