EPCE Marks 25th Anniversary With New Website Offering New Energy Programs and Career Navigation Resources

Energy Providers Coalition for Education connects employees at more than 3,500 member companies to industry-built academic programs in the energy industry

INDIANAPOLIS – CAEL, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adult learners navigate pathways between education and employment, today announced it has completed major enhancements to epceonline.org, the website for the Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE). CAEL administers EPCE, the energy sector’s leading source of 100% online degrees and other credentials for the future and incumbent workforce. Improvements to the website were supported by the GitLab Foundation, which has provided funding to CAEL to attract diverse talent to the energy industry including to help enhance the EPCE website.“The generous support of the GitLab Foundation provides yet another reason to celebrate 25 years of EPCE-led, industry-built online energy education and training programs,” said Earl Buford, CAEL president. “We are excited to join forces with the GitLab Foundation to help more adult learners and workers succeed in rewarding and vital occupations in the energy sector.”

“EPCE programs are a great way for our employees to pursue further education and training,” said Karen Arlington, manager of learning and development at JEA, an EPCE employer member. “The new website will make it easier for everyone to explore and choose the learning opportunity that works for them. This partnership represents a ‘win win’ for our employees and for our organization overall as EPCE programs address multiple career pathways in the energy industry.”

“We are excited about our partnership with EPCE and the many benefits to our current workforce,” said Matt Kellam, manager of workforce development and planning at Dominion Energy, another EPCE member. “Their energy program offerings are relevant and practical, and friendly to working adults. EPCE offers everything from technical certificates to engineering degrees and beyond. The new website will make it easy for our employees to understand what’s available to them and to take advantage of the tuition discounts we receive as an EPCE member.”

Enhancements to the EPCE website include aligning offered credentials with energy occupations, helping adult learners identify what training they need to continue on in their career, or switch to a career in energy. Continued collaboration between CAEL and the GitLab Foundation will bring further upgrades to the site, including energy career pathways.

EPCE’s enhanced site also features a new education partner, PSG Energy Training, a leading non-credit course provider for the electric power and energy industries. PSG joins EPCE education partners Bismarck State College, Clemson University, Excelsior University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Together, they offer over 100 online courses created in collaboration with the energy sector and tailored to its latest needs.

Employees of EPCE’s 3,500+ members receive discounted tuition rates of up to 20%. In turn, EPCE members enjoy an average return on investment of more than 230% on EPCE membership, on top of the substantial recruiting and retention improvements created by education benefits.

The upgraded EPCE website also includes energy career overviews for those interested in entering the industry, with resources highlighting EPCE education and training programs that align with each industry within the sector.
