Carolyn Swabek, Director of Community Engagement, CAEL

Carolyn Swabek has extensive experience in community engagement, program, and partnership development within the nonprofit and higher education sectors. Her work is motivated by the belief that education can open doors to unlimited possibilities and the desire to dismantle systemic barriers that prevent individuals and communities from thriving.

Becky Klein-Collins, Vice President, Research and Impact, CAELKlein_Collins_Becky_324_RGB

Becky Klein-Collins is the Vice President, Research and Impact at CAEL. In this role, she leads CAEL’s research initiatives, evaluation activities, and impact measurement strategy. Her work has been foundational in building CAEL’s reputation as a national resource in advancing Credit for Prior Learning/Prior Learning Assessment (CPL/PLA). Her other research and public policy activities have focused on competency-based education, student veterans, mature workers, and system-transforming practices in workforce development. 

Dr. Wendy Kilgore, Senior Director of Research, AACRAOWendy K (1)

Dr. Kilgore, currently the Senior Director of Research, brings over 25 years of higher education experience. Her roles include state dean of enrollment services at Colorado Community College, director of admissions and registrar at Pima County Community College, and various advising and admissions positions at Arizona State University. Her expertise spans organizational restructuring, technology optimization, and student-centric business practices and policy. Dr. Kilgore's consultancy work encompasses diverse institution types, from large public research universities to small private institutions. She leads the AACRAO research unit focusing on topics of interest to the membership and the broader higher education community.

Wilson Finch, Vice President, Higher Education Initiatives, CAELFinch_Wilson_324_RGB

Finch oversees CAEL’s advising and program support work, which includes delivery of higher education, workforce, and economic development projects and products. Finch has delivered and directed various complex projects, primarily focusing on statewide and systemwide approaches to credit for prior learning (CPL), strategy development for CPL implementation, and implementation and improvement of institutional CPL programs.

Allegra Fowler, Executive Director, Center for Prior Learning Recognition, Purdue Global

Allegra Fowler

Allegra Fowler is the Executive Director of the Center for Prior Learning Recognition at Purdue University Global. In this role, Fowler drives the university strategy for recognition of credit for prior learning (CPL) in all forms and the use of CPL as a tool to enable student success. Fowler and her team support the evaluation of traditional college and university transfer credit as well as military and non-traditional credit through collaboration with faculty. Her areas of expertise include transfer credit articulation, credential design, recognition of non-traditional credits, and military credit utilization. She believes strongly in the value of higher education and the important role that recognition of all forms of prior learning can play in enabling students to achieve their academic and professional goals.
