Understanding and Using Your Data on Adult Learners

In higher education, we often have more data than we know what to do with. Despite this, don't let important data about adult learners sit on a shelf!

Barry Darnell, Senior Director of Higher Education Initiatives @CAEL

As senior director of higher education initiatives, Barry Darnell, M. Ed, MBA, engages with CAEL’s higher education and workforce partners to uncover and resolve inequities in access and success. As a subject matter expert in institutional assessment and change management, he engages with statewide, regional, and international higher education systems to elevate adult learner success. Prior to CAEL, Barry managed Rhode Island’s Governor’s Workforce Board healthcare industry partnership, oversaw the implementation of RI’s first statewide Nurse Residency program, and served on the executive board for the State Implementation Plan for the Institute of Medicine’s Future of Nursing report recommendations.

 

 

Rachel Dwiggins-Beeler is currently the Senior Director of Services and Communications for eLumen. She received an M.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Communication and Educational Technology from San Diego State University. She has spent over fifteen years developing and delivering courses through various mediums at both two and four-year institutions. She managed various initiatives at the colleges and worked on the distance education and guided pathway task forces. Rachel transitioned to the private sector as she saw that her experience and education would be valuable at organizations supporting student success in higher education.
